Skin Glow Studio's standard guidance is to shave the chosen area 12–24 hours before your appointment. This keeps the surface manageable while leaving the hair structure below the skin available for the session.
Shave gently the day before or within 12–24 hours of the appointment. Avoid repeated passes and stop if the skin becomes irritated. Arrive with the area clean and without deodorant, oil or lotion where practical.
02
Do not wax or pluck
Waxing, sugaring, threading and tweezing remove hair from the root. Avoid them before the appointment; shaving trims hair at the surface instead. If you recently removed hair from the root, tell the studio so timing can be reviewed.
03
Hard-to-reach areas
Self-shaving is preferred. For an area you cannot reach easily, choose “Shave at the studio” during booking. The booking flow displays the added fee and time before confirmation.
04
If shaving causes irritation
Do not aggressively shave over cuts, active irritation or a skin concern. Contact the studio before the visit and explain what happened. The specialist will decide whether the area should be assessed or the appointment moved.
Frequently asked questions
Should I shave on the morning of my appointment?
The standard window is 12–24 hours beforehand. Follow any area-specific instruction the studio gives you.
Can I wax instead of shaving?
No. Waxing removes hair from the root. Use shaving as instructed and tell the studio if you recently waxed, plucked, threaded or sugared the area.
What if I cannot shave the area myself?
Choose “Shave at the studio” in the booking flow for eligible areas. The added fee and time are shown before confirmation.
What if I nick or irritate the skin?
Stop shaving and contact the studio before the visit. Do not assume the area can proceed; the specialist will review the situation.
