Before a session: 12–24 hours out of the sun
Keep the area out of direct sun for the 12–24 hours before your session. Tanning before a session can make the skin more reactive and may change which settings are appropriate. If you have spent time in the sun or your skin is recently tanned or sunburned, tell the studio before your visit so the specialist can review it.
After a session: protect the session area
After a session, avoid direct sun and tanning on the session area for the first 24–48 hours, and use SPF whenever you're outside. Heat, friction, pools and beach time can also affect how the skin feels afterwards.
Timing sessions during a stay
If you're visiting, think about where a session falls in your trip: the first 24–48 hours after it are the ones to keep the session area out of strong sun. Share your travel dates when you book so the studio can help you plan.
A series of sessions is commonly needed because hair grows in cycles, so a short stay may cover only part of a course. The specialist can explain what is realistic before you book.
